I Miss The Muppets!

Born on this day: (or rather May 12th) George Carlin, Tony Hawk, Katharine Hepburn and Florence Nightingale, among others (via NNDB)
(This was yesterday's post--scheduled for May 12th--which I had to repost due to Blogger's problems. See post below this one).

I think Jim Henson was a true genius, he helped me remember that we should all access our inner child now and then, and sometimes when his name is brought up or I see characters from Sesame Street, I still miss him and all that he stood for. Here's a "What if the Muppets Made the Movie Oceans 11" bit of fun (via Miss Cellania and Unique Daily).

So, who is your favorite Jim Henson character? (I'm not sure. Probably Kermit).

Have a great day! I hope you find something today that brings out that sense of childish wonder that makes life so special.

I'm back from visiting my parents. My daughter & I watch "A Muppet Christmas Carol" each year - yes at Christmas. It's hilarious. Got to love Rizzo the Rat.

That was one of my fav shows as a kid... I think they show some episodes on one of the cable channels... always loved Kermit, Miss Piggy and Gonzo... had some toy puppets... think I have one or two still packed away.

Comments from this post were lost when Blogger went down yesterday. Here are the ones that I salvaged:

Mary, welcome back! I love "A Muppet Christmas Carol"! Also "A Muppet Family Christmas." Years after we first saw it, "Look out for the icy patch," is still one of our catch phrases.

Colleen, wasn't Miss Piggy wonderful? I think she's still my hero (heroine). You should keep those puppets. I wish I'd kept a few more things from when I was a kid.

Yes, Blogger sure messed us up! It's amazing how dependent we get with these computers!

In my younger years, Big Bird was my favorite. Sometimes Elmo is my fave now, but honestly, my all-time "favorite favorites" are the two old guys in the balcony!

Elaine, I love those old guys! There's nothing like a grumpy old guy puppet, is there?

I was pretty big on Grover, too.
