Interesting about Sean Connery not being a first choice, etc. Hmmmm. I'd say my favourites were Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan, but I could have my arm twisted to add some more names too, LOL!
Oddly enough I wasn't a fan of Roger Moore as Bond, although I liked him in other things (Maverick and The Saint). In fact, I think part of reason he didn't resonate as Bond for me was because I already associated him more with those other characters. I really liked Pierce Brosnan, though, and I like Daniel Craig quite a bit (which I never thought I would when he was first announced as the new Bond).
What? We differ on something, Myrna? OMG! Seems like every time I turn around, we have a zillion similarities (which is kinda weird yet warming). Truth be told, though, I hadn't seen Roger Moore in other shows, nor had I gotten used to Sean Connery as the original James Bond. As for Daniel Craig, I think I would agree with you IF I had seen any of his movies, but I haven't. I have seen clips, mind you, but I too wasn't enamoured with him when he joined the franchise. I guess I've gotten used to him by now so I probably would enjoy what he brings to the character (too). Perhaps we like Pierce because we were used to that type of character when he was Remington Steele (swoon). He is still a hunka burning love (wink).
This (differing on one thing) must mean that we're not robots. LOL And I can pretty much watch Pierce in anything. I was really sorry to see him retire as Bond. By the way, I finally saw George Clooney in The Descendants. George is still super swoon-worthy. What about a movie with both Pierce and George? Now that would be something.
You said, "I can pretty much watch Pierce in anything." My mind went to the opposite: I can pretty much watch Pierce in ... uh ... nothing! LOL! I liked Pierce in his supporting role on Mrs. Doubtfire years ago. I thought he played the character well.
