Books That are Just as Good the Second Time Around

I just reread Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase. It still held up.

Do you  have favorite books you reread or are you a once and it's done forever kind of reader?

I re-read favourites all the time. I have bought a second copy of books because I wore out the first.

I prefer "once and it's done forever", but I have started keeping a few books that I re-read a couple of years or so later. (When you've got hundreds ... okay ... over a thousand ... books in your TBR pile, you learn to be selective ... and how to pass on books to others quickly. I used to buy books based on the blurbs and publishers, but since blogging in 2009, I now only read books by the authors I "talk to" online. I SHOULD get rid of those other books, but I don't. I read one from that pile every now and then, but I no longer buy based on the blurbs.)

Mary, I've done that, too. Some of them I just can't bear to let go.

Elaine, yes, it's tough to make choices when there are so many things to do in a day and so little time to read. I tend to steer toward favorite authors or books that have been recommended to me by sources I trust. Now and then I'll venture out into new unknown territory if a review sounds particularly good.
