Quilting Again

I've always wanted to quilt something, but the time and patience required...well, I'm not sure that I'd ever be a successful quilter (yes, writing takes time and patience, but that's my passion. I don't excel at sewing). At any rate, I'm in the midst of making a simple and very plain comforter and it's...just okay, but it has me looking at quilts longingly again. To satisfy my quilting urge, here are some pretty and some very interesting ones.

This one isn't finished yet, but I like it.

This one is actually crocheted, not quilted. Here's the link to the pattern:

Here's the blog post about the quilt below (and what an amazing quilt it is)!

There is such an art to quilting. Not something I've ever tried. My GP quilts. All around her surgery she has different quilts up on the walls.

The woman across the street (years after she and her son died, I learned she was my paternal grandmother) quilted and she'd let me "help" by stitching, on occasion. Sure hurts the fingers if you don't wear a thimble! (Maybe I was doing it wrong, though, LOL!) I can't bear to part with a couple of her quilts and hope to some day put them on our guest room bed (if/when either of my kids moves out so I HAVE a guest room)!

I had an aunt who had a quilting frame suspended from the ceiling of her living room. Her wedding present to me was a wedding ring quilt. It's beautiful. Some of the quilts I've seen are absolute works of art.
