I haven't started reading the book yet, but the topic fascinates me. The setting is Hay-on-Wye, a town in Wales. Hay-on-Wye has a population of only 1,500, but the town has 40 bookstores. The Boston Globe calls Sixpence House, "the bookworm's answer to A Year in Provence." How could I resist?
And, of course, I had to find more about the town. Some images.
And a video.
Looks like I'll have to put another place on my "I want to go there" list. (And I'm looking forward to reading the book).

Well, when you go you can take me with you. How have I not heard about this place before? Fabulous thank you.
Mary, my thoughts (re:how have I not heart about this place?) were exactly the same. It seems as if this would be well-known to the readers of the world, doesn't it? I'll book us a flight. :-D
