Haven't we all regarded the snooze button as a blessing on those days when we just don't want to get up, and that wonderful little invention enables us to grab 10 or 20 more minutes of sleep? I know I have, but here's an explanation as to why that's not a great idea (not saying I'm going to stop hitting the snooze button, but...I might think twice about it in the future).

Thank goodness I've never used the Snooze button....
When I was a kid, we started school at 9 am, so I always got up at 8 am (and walked a mile to school). When I worked outside the home, the same times applied (but I drove 10 minutes). With my kids, it was 7:45 for 8:45 school times (walking around the corner with them till Grade 2), so I wasn't far off my schedule. Now that I am blessed to work from home, my internal clock used to wake me up around 7:30-8:00 am, but since "getting old", I'm usually up between 5:30 and 7:30. Annoying, to say the least....
LOL on waking up earlier now that you don't have to get up. My father was once a farmer and later a factory worker rising at 4:30 every morning, so I was used to being up early. Now it's a rare day when I sleep past 7, and 6 is more likely. But in the winter when it's cold and dark...sometimes it's tempting to at least try to sleep later.
