What I'm Reading Now

I finally got around to picking up a copy of John Green's New York Times bestselling The Fault in Our Stars  and I read it straight through. I knew beforehand that the heroine, Hazel (this is a young adult book), had terminal cancer, which is why I put off reading it for awhile, but I'm glad that I finally read it. Yes, it's a difficult subject, but it's not at all what I expected it to be (and it was totally worth it).

Here's what the Amazon description and back cover copy says:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 TIME Magazine’s #1 Fiction Book of 2012!
The Fault in Our Stars is a love story, one of the most genuine and moving ones in recent American fiction, but it’s also an existential tragedy of tremendous intelligence and courage and sadness.” —Lev Grossman, TIME Magazine

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.

Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning-author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have read good comments about this one. I'll need to be in the mood.

Yes, I had to wait until the right moment came along, but it was a story that needed to be read.
