Books, Books, Books...

I gave a talk at the Berwyn (Illinois) Public Library Friday night and had a great time. Everyone asked questions, so I didn't have to drone on about myself (which is always uncomfortable), and the time flew by. So I'm in a library/bookstore mood today.

This is a bookstore in Buenos Aires. I could spend a day or two there.

And a parody of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" titled "If You Love to Read" by Sarah Ada (if you want to see the written lyrics, click through to YouTube. They're beneath the video if you click the Show More button).

I love libraries. We are actually getting a new town library. The current library is now too small. Also, it is near the creek which flooded during The Great Flood of January 2011. Though the water line stopped just short of the lowest row of books on the shelves.

Love this look at spectacular libraries! And the Adele parody was really fun!

Aren't libraries special places? They're like little islands of calm in the world.

I remember when we (finally) got our new library. It took two referendums and a number of years, but it's built now and beautiful. Lots of little reading nooks.

Mary, so glad the water stopped before the books were damaged. I lost boxes of them when our basement flooded many years ago, but a library? So many more books. It would have been a major loss.

I'm so glad you liked the Adele parody. I thought it was rather clever.
