Here's the new Cover (all of it)

I mentioned some time ago that my novella, The Soldier, the Puppy and Me, part of the A Puppy for Christmas collection, had only been released in the U.K. last year. This October it will be out in the U.S., and it has a new cover (both are adorable since they both have cute puppies on them). Here's the new one, both back and front:

I'll post more about the book (and an excerpt) when it's closer to its October 1st release date, but I love that cover so much that I just had to share.

Mary, thank you! And yes, I'm pretty excited (I'll admit to having a fondness for puppy photos).

Much as these puppies are cute as well, I liked the other cover's way of handling the authors' names better. The other cover had them all in the same size of font along the bottom, whereas this one gives more attention to Carole Mortimer. Then again, you get second billing in this one, both in the names on the cover and on the back blurb, so I'm guessing that your story is second in the book this time. Way to go!!!

I also liked the "Paws, presents & proposals" noted on the original and miss it on the second one.

That being said, I like the back cover better on the new one, as the blurbs are easier to read.

Boy, do I sound wishy-washy, LOL! I guess what I'm trying to say is that I like different things on each cover. It doesn't really matter, though, as *I* don't buy based on the cover, cute as it may be....

I really enjoyed your story, Myrna. I thought it was realistic, and I liked how the townspeople were a part of the story too. I could feel my heart being faster at certain times (literally), and I especially liked the "role" the puppy had in setting up the romance.

Whoops. Beating faster. That'll teach me for not proofing first!

Elaine, those are all good points. I'm never quite certain why the covers change from market to market. I'm guessing that the marketing people have access to all the secret formulas. LOL

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I had great fun writing that story! I definitely want to include more pets in future books. I've done it before (although not to this extent), and it's always a joy.

Thank you for all of your comments. I really do keep these things in mind as I prepare to write.
