Start Your Engines (But Maintain Balance)

After several days away for the holidays, I'm finally getting the wheels to turn again. I'm always caught off-guard by how difficult it is to get back into my routines after some down time, especially because I love my work and I love writing this blog (so it should be easy). I think it's a matter of balance. Move too far in one direction (in this case, inactivity) and soon you're sliding down a hill and struggling to climb back up.

There! Did all of that sound good? I hope so, because (although everything I said is true), I also wanted a good lead-in to this video. Yesterday, I spent some time looking at animated shorts, especially award-winning ones. Balance (below) also won an Academy Award for Best Animated Short in 1989.

I hadn't seen it before yesterday, but once I started watching, I couldn't stop. It was fascinating and (added bonus) included an intriguing lesson. Nice!

Wow. I was glued to the end (and surprised by the ending).
Welcome back, Myrna, and Happy New Year to all!

Yes, at first I thought it was going to drag (maybe the darker colors)? But it totally held my attention. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Hope your holidays were perfect!
