That was foolish. It was a book that was published a long time ago, but I'm proud of it and it was well received, even winning an award, so recently I picked it up again and edited it again. And again. I added an epilogue and a short love scene. I'm renaming it, because I wasn't overly fond of the original title. It's become a very exciting process, and now that I'm on the verge of publishing it as an ebook, I've spent the past week looking at book cover artists' websites.
Coincidentally, this morning I ran across Mark Crilley's latest time lapse, which is so appropriate, since it's a couple kissing. I love watching this man draw. Amazing. Watch.
I am in awe of people who first of all, are able to visualize an image and then actually have the skills to create that image with shadows and light and all the details that bring that vision to life. So here's a shout out to all of the artists out there. I am grateful for your talent and extremely grateful that you share that talent with the rest of us.
As for me and my book, I'm on to the next step: learning how to format an ebook. I'm going to try to do it from scratch, and HTML is involved. I'm still a bit of a novice in that area. I know enough to be able to tweak things on this blog, but not enough to always realize what I've done wrong when I make a mistake. So, it's going to be a learning process. Wish me luck.

I'm proud of you, Myrna. Congrats on always trying something new! (It reminds me of when I sang in front of 60 badminton players/their spouses almost two years ago. I am NOT a singer, nor would I ever profess to being close, but it was okay to spread my wings and try something new, no matter the results. If there are things that could be changed/improved, so what? At least you did it!)
Although I don't have an eReader, I DO look forward to reading this book (and many others), even if I have read it before without the love scene and epilogue. Sounds lovely....
Laney4, thank you! And I'm proud of you, too. My knees would have been knocking if I'd had to sing in front of people (and they might have thrown things).
I would love to be able to publish this book in a print version, too, but when you self publish, the print versions are print on demand, and there seems to be no way to keep the cost low for the buyers. In messing around with the calculator for the most popular producer of print books for indie authors, it looks as if one would have to price a book at a minimum of $8.99 in order to have it available in markets outside the U.S. and also to keep the author from owing money to the producer. That's a lot of money for a 220 page book that would list for around $4.50 to $4.99 as a mass market book. Ouch! That's not to say I won't do it when I publish something completely new. I would like to have a physical copy.
