Remembering Jim Henson

For Christmas, my oldest son gave me a copy of the recently published, Jim Henson: the Biography, by Brian Jay Jones. It's been a bit busy here lately, but I finally got a chance to get into it, and I'm totally enjoying learning more about this amazing man. And there is a lot to learn (I hadn't realized how very young he was when he began his career).

I'm only about a quarter of the way through the book so far, but already I'm searching out videos of some of his earlier work. Here are some of his first commercials and also some of the first times he added his voice to his Muppets.

And of course, the wonderful Rainbow Connection. Makes me a bit sad. I still miss Jim Henson.

Of course, there are many more videos on YouTube. And I highly recommend the book.
