Remember Encyclopedias?

I still have an old set. They're good for looking up historical figures and...I'm just slightly sentimental about them, even though I rarely use them. Here are some teenagers giving their views on encyclopedias:

Do you still have encyclopedias in your house?

I used to have 13 sets (obviously before the Internet age). I now have 1 so that I can keep nice pictures filed under their headings. Years ago we would get National Geographic cardboard pages in the mail, so I would file them in that set, and my kids used them often for school projects (esp. animals). Yes, you can print things from the Internet, but sometimes "old school" is nicer - especially when you need better quality for, let's say, my scrapbooking.

I used to have three sets. A few years ago the church had a boot sale to raise money for the school Pastor. I donated the sets because they were just collecting dust here & taking up valuable book shelf space. They sold quickly.

Elaine, 13? I'm impressed! Great idea to use them for scrapbooking.

Mary, they do collect dust and take up a lot of space. I'm glad you were able to find new owners.
