I'm probably not the best person to post about fingernail art, because I keep mine plain, but I saw this video about the Fingernails2Go kiosks, and I was intrigued. It's a machine that paints your nails in over 1,0000 designs you can choose from (you can also upload your own images or take a selfie with the machine and have that put on your nails). You can apparently paint each nail differently if you like. And if you don't want the machine to paint your nails, you can buy a set of nails in whatever design you choose.
I'm not sure where these kiosks are. The pricing I saw was in pounds, so I'm assuming they're only in the UK at the moment, but I assume the company would want to expand if they're successful. At any rate, it's an interesting concept.
Even a confirmed "no nail polish" person such as I am could see doing something like this for a special occasion.
