What I'm Reading Now

Like most people (I imagine), I have a tendency to read favorite authors, look at If You Liked, Then You May Like...lists, check out Goodreads or booksellers for favorite books or (for me this is rare) choose from the bestseller lists. But now and then, I find a new favorite via an odd channel.

A few weeks ago on Facebook, I saw a post by an author I didn't know (although she is a New York Times bestseller and a RITA winner). I'm not even sure how I saw her post because she wasn't a Facebook friend. It was probably a share by another person. Anyway, her message resonated with me, and although it had nothing to do with her books, at least not directly (it wasn't a promo), I had to buy something by her. I'm so glad I did, because now I'm addicted to Deanna Raybourn's Lady Julia Grey mystery series.

Silent in the Grave is the first book in the series. They're historical mysteries with a bit of romance thrown in, but less romance than mystery. I love her characters, and I am thoroughly enthralled. It's so much fun to find a new-to-me author!
