The one below is super cute and simpler than it looks. It's made from one sheet of 12" x12' paper.
Note: There is one error in the video's audio. Beneath the video she said, "There is a mistake when I give you the first set of score marks for the box I say score at 1-1/2", 3" and 3-1/4" it should be 1-1/2", 3" and 3-3/4" sorry .... I get it right the second time I give the dimensions!
Lastly, there is this blog (link below) that has 187 templates for paper purses (which, I assume, one would use for wrapping gifts). It's a stamping blog, with lots of cute ideas for gift tags, but today I'm all about the gift boxes.

LOL, Myrna. Thank YOU!
The first one I would make IF I had a template to trace (I'm too lazy otherwise), so I will keep watch for them.
The second one is way too small and I'm way too lazy to figure out the enlarged dimensions. It was difficult to see the pencil marks; too bad it wasn't a black pen, for example, but pencil marks erase.
And I didn't watch all of the third one. She lost me when she was first scoring on that contraption that I don't own. I think the video would have been better if the camera was set back a bit so I could see the entire sheet as she was working.
Think I'll stick to your first purse gift box on your previous recent blog, with the modification of a straight line instead of a jagged one (too time consuming for me) for the purse "flap". Once I figured out NOT to use a patterned paper that has an up side to it, they were much faster to make.
I also preferred wrapping my own boxes so that the size could vary, as I made larger "purses" than those shown in the linked blog (although I must consider that mine can't be reused....). Still ... your blog from last year where we made our own box bottoms and lids worked quite well and THAT can be reused. Now you have me thinking....
Anyway, thanks for thinking of ... us. LOL.
Elaine, some of these are pretty complicated, I think (sometimes I think I enjoy watching them more than I would making them). I'll keep my eyes open for the next new gift box idea. It's always fun to hunt for them.
