Photoshop is Amazing and Also Scary (at Times)

We've all seen beautiful photos which have clearly been enhanced. Some (landscapes or interesting or humorous collages, for example) are fun and bring us enjoyment. Old or damaged photos can be restored. Artists can manipulate designs to come up with book covers, videos and more. All of that is amazing and wonderful and I am constantly in awe of the talented people who do such things. This example by Dave Wilson of Dave Wilson Photography shows the evolution of an image. There's also the opposite side of the coin, such as images of models who, through the magic of photo manipulation, have been turned into unrealistic shapes which are impossible for most humans to achieve.

At any rate, it's certainly a different world out there these days. It's often difficult to discern what is reality and what isn't. I wonder what they'll come up with next. For now, here are a couple of interesting samples.

You've seen like this before, but here's a very short example of what can be done (I'm sure more than Photoshop was utilized here, but you get the picture).

And here's a video that has gone viral this week (big time, with about 1.5 million views right now). Hungarian singer Boggie uses her new music video, Parfum, to illustrate just how much a person can be changed using photo manipulation. I liked the music, and the degree of change was intriguing.

As for me...well, I've told a family member that he can not post photos of me online unless he learns how to make me look younger and thinner. He's still working on it.

Have a wonderful day!
